Checking in and giving an exciting update!

Today is my birthday…and I’ve been reflecting a lot. Not just on another year of life, but on what it actually means to be here. Because a few years ago…I was just trying to survive.

When you’re going through cancer—when you’re in the depths of it— you’re not really processing everything that’s happening. You think you are…but in reality, you’re compartmentalizing.

You’re filing things away.

Your body, your mind, your spirit— they’re like, we will deal with this later.
Right now, we survive.

And that’s exactly what you do. But what I’ve realized now—being almost two years on the other side—is that “later” comes.

And when it comes…it doesn’t always come gently.

I’ll have moments of profound sadness.
Grief that feels like it comes out of nowhere.
Emotions that feel big and unexpected.

And then I realize…This is everything I didn’t have the capacity to process back then.

Because during treatment…
I didn’t have the space to ask, how did that make me feel?
I didn’t have the safety to sit in it.
I was focused on staying alive.

And this is the part no one really prepares you for.

The “after.”

The emotional release.
The identity shifts.
The quiet question of… now what?

And it’s exactly why I’ve stepped into this work as a breast cancer recovery coach.

Because this phase—this in-between—deserves support.

Not just clinically.
But emotionally.
Humanly.
From someone who has lived it.

So today, on my birthday… I’m not just celebrating another year.

I’m honoring everything it took to get here.
And fully arriving into the work I know I’m meant to do.

Living in Reaction vs Living in Intention

This is more than just what I use…
it’s how I live.

Slowing down.
Being intentional.
Choosing what I put in and on my body with awareness.

Creating a small apothecary at home brought me back into my body in a way I didn’t expect.

It doesn’t have to be perfect or complicated.
Just a few things that feel good, that feel aligned.

Part of my healing journey through Stage 3 breast cancer, chemo, recovery, and the “after.” I did not use this during radiation as the movement created pain in my chest wall and ribs - they didn’t like the movement, which makes perfect sense.
